Pyramid Lake is a world-class fly fishing destination, located about 1 hour northeast of Reno, Nevada. Pyramid's Lahontan Cutthroat trout reach gargantuan size, the world record Cutthroat was caught here weighing in at 43lbs. This desert oasis not only boats some of the largest trout in the USA, but also has amazing scenery. From large tufa rock formations, to unreal sunrises and sunsets. The Lake is 27 miles long and varies in width from 4-12 miles wide, it also reaches depths of 350ft. The Lake is owned by The Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe.

The Most Common way that Pyramid lake is fished, by the fly angler is by accessing one of the beaches on the west shore of the lake and fishing from a ladder or of the beach. These anglers are only able to access the beaches along the west shore of the lake. Leaving the North, East & South end of the lake unaccessible without a boat. So most fly anglers only have access to around 20% of fishable water.
What we offer
We offer Guided Fly fishing Boat trips, using a 23ft center console fishing boat. This boat is perfect for fly fishing with optimum casting area and comfort and safety in rougher water. With the boat I am able to guide you on about 90% of the lake, most of which doesn't get fished by other fly anglers. We are also able to move from location to location with ease and solitude. I have spent many years fishing the lake from the boat and from shore, and I have learned that the boat provides leaps and bounds of not only better fishing, but a greater overall experience for anglers. Even if you have fished the lake many times from shore, I am sure that you will be blown away with the experience of the fishery from the boat!
